OAMA Services
The Ostomy Association of the Minneapolis Area is a Volunteer-based 501(c)(3) Health Organization dedicated to providing education, information, support and advocacy for people who have had or will have intestinal or urinary diversions.
OAMA Provides:
Assistance:
- A self-help support group dedicated to helping persons who have had colostomy, ileostomy, urostomy or continent diversion surgery.
- Trained members who will contact ostomy patients both pre-operatively or post-operatively for ostomy management advice and reassurance.
- Encouragement for all members to resume normal activities and lead a full life.
- Inspiration, fun and support!
Education and Information:
- Monthly meetings at which ostomy related topics are presented.
- An informative chapter newsletter "The Ostomy Outlook" containing helpful articles and information about meetings.
Exchange of Ideas and Knowledge:
- Learn of approved Ostomy Care from professionals.
- Benefit from experiences of other members.
- Awareness about about the variety of appliances available.
- Attend local, regional and national events.
Come and particpate in our meetings.
Share your thoughts and ideas.

Make lasting friendships.
(We meet the 3rd Monday of the month, except for December, July and August.)
